FREE ADMISSION EVENT

A grand old festival in Dallas.  Nice.

THE FATHER AND THE BEAR Saturday, April 29 3:30pm Wil Love stars as Byron Temple, a retired character actor struggling with the onset of dementia who wants to perform at his beloved summer theater one last time. Against the wishes of his over- protective daughter (Dendrie Taylor), he accepts a role from the newly installed Artistic Director (David DeLuise), who is unaware of his condition. Byron fights to overcome his limitations (with some amusingly creative help from his theater colleagues). Writer/ director John Putch’s beautiful, highly personal work is a master- ful portrait of aging, dignity and the camaraderie of the theater. 85mins. In attendance: writer/director John Putch. Presented in partnership with our friends at the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Dallas Chapter. FREE admission program.
